Subscription Update Obituary

Shirley A. (Berggren) Stidsen, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She leaves her husband of 65 years, Kenneth W. Stidsen; three sons: Kenneth W, Stidsen, Jr. and his wife Claire of Sterling, Brian E. Stidsen and his wife Paula of Rutland and Gregory Stidsen and his wife Diane of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two sisters: Jean Welch and Edna Doyle predeceased her.

Shirley was born in Worcester, the daughter of Einar A. and Agnes A. (Nelson) Berggren. She and her husband co-owned and operated K.W. Stidsen Heating Company in Worcester for many years before retiring. Shirley was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed antiquing. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

Shirley’s visiting hours will be on Friday, December 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 31 at 10:00 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607 or to the American Lung Association , 460 Totten Pond Rd. #400, Waltham, MA 02451.
