Subscription Update Obituary

     Sally E. (Berquist) Agurkis, 63, of West Boylston passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at UMass Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 39 years, James J. Agurkis; three sons, Patrick J. Agurkis of Worcester, his daughter Paige and her mother, Sarah Cass, Andrew A. Agurkis and his wife Angela of West Boylston and their daughter Sophia and Timothy R. Agurkis and his wife Audrena of Shrewsbury; a brother, Robert Berquist and his wife Linda of Voorheesville, NY; and nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Robert and Shirley (Lagerstrom) Berquist, graduated from Burncoat Senior High School and completed the Dental Assistant program at David Hale Fanning Trade School. Sally worked in the Optometry Department at Fallon Clinic in Worcester for many years. She enjoyed spending time reading on her deck and tending to her beautiful plants and flowers. Sally was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family for holidays and birthdays. She loved her cats, Rayme Lou and Rajie Bear. Sally’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, they were everything to her. Sally’s family would like to thank Dr. McNamee and staff, Dr. Kulke, and Nurse Practitioner Robbin Summers, of all of Dana Farber for the wonderful care they provided.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 12 at 10:00 AM at FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Visiting hours are Monday, May 11 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
