Ruth F. (Hellman) Holmgren, 92, formerly on North Brookfield, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Life Care Center of Wilbraham.

She leaves three sons, William O. Holmgren, III and his wife Michelle of Warren, David Holmgren and his husband Chuck of Vancouver, WA and Joseph Holmgren and his wife Katherine of Ithaca, NY; five daughters, Susan Winkler and her husband Jerry of Saint Augustine, FL, Linda Castano and her husband Tom of Westminster, VT, Viola Holmgren and her husband Tony of West Yarmouth, Mary Stabler of Oneonta, NY and Barbara Newman of Sweden; a daughter-in-law, Joy Holmgren of Sturbridge; a brother, Roy Hellman of Naples, FL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, William O. Holmgren in 2003, a son, John Holmgren in 2013 and a sister, Gloria Radloff in 2011. She was born in New York, NY daughter of the late William and Helija (Kosky) Hellman and grew up in the Bronx and later lived in East Brookfield and North Brookfield before moving to Warren in 2005.

She was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in North Brookfield.

A Funeral Service for Ruth will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. A calling hour will be held prior to the services from 10 to 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Warren Fire Department Ambulance, P.O. Box 608, Warren, MA 01083.
