Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. Gadbois, 73, of Spencer, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021 in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Worcester due to complications with Covid-19.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Irene M. (Berthiaume) Gadbois, his children; Michelle L. McCrillis, Michael J. Gadbois and his wife Tammie all of Spencer and Brian R. Gadbois and his family of Barre, two brothers Joseph Gadbois and his wife Ellie of Brookfield and Paul Gadbois and his wife Denise of Spencer, 15 grandchildren including Megan, Devon, Deanna, Becca and two great grandchildren Briella and Lukas, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Rita Holmes.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Alfred J. and Louise F. (Bernard) Gadbois and later graduated from David Prouty High School. He served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State College in 2004. He was employed at Norton Co. retiring in 1999.

Bob was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in E. Brookfield where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Knights of Columbus Council 118 in Spencer, and the Gaudette-Kirk American Legion Post 138 in Spencer. He enjoyed woodcarving and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer in Spencer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours with Covid-19 precautions, masks and social distancing are Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
