Subscription Update Obituary

     Rita L. (Gadbois) Holmes, 70, of 1073 Main St., died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. She was the wife of Clifford C. Holmes who died in 1983.

     She leaves her son, Richard J. Holmes and his partner Linda Sanko of Leicester; two daughters, Cheryll G. Holmes and her fiancé Alan Quinn of Cherry Valley and Sharen A. Doray and her husband James of Barre; three brothers, Joseph Gadbois and his wife Ellie of Brookfield, Robert Gadbois and his wife Irene and Paul Gadbois and his wife Denise all of Spencer; seven grandchildren, Timothy and Kathy Hurley, Tara and Ben Lessard, Cliff, Traci and Abbey Holmes and Sarah and Katelyn Doray; several nieces and nephews, and her close friends Peg and Judy.

     Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Alfred and Louise F. (Bernard) Gadbois. She later graduated from Leicester High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and cherished her grandchildren whom affectionately knew her as “Grammi Rit”.

     Rita’s funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 20 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 330 Congress St., 5th. Flr., Boston, MA 02210.
