Subscription Update Obituary

Peter John Iannotti, Sr., 87, formerly of Worcester, MA., died Friday, Dec. 1st in the Legacy House, a hospice residence, in Ocala, FL., after a long bout with cancer.

Mr. Iannotti leaves his wife Gladys Holmes-Iannotti; three daughters, Barbara White of Spencer, Dianne Cardoni of Holden, and Jane Belanger of Kentucky; four sons, Richard Iannotti of Oxford, Raymond Iannotti of Ohio, James and Robert Iannotti of Worcester; four step-sons, James Layte, Thomas Layte, Paul Layte, and John Layte; two step-daughters, Donna Layte and Sharon Mrugala. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his first wife, Doris R. Iannotti, a son, Peter J. Iannotti, Jr. and a step-son, Donald Layte and his parents, Pasquale and Louisa (Acciola) Iannotti.

Peter was the last remaining of 13 siblings, predeceased most recently by his brothers, Ernest and Andrew Iannotti. He also leaves 29 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Mr. Iannotti was an electrician for Ostrow Electric for 35 yrs. After retiring he worked part time for Holy Cross College. He was a member of IBEW local #96 Electrical Workers Union in Worcester. He was a Navy veteran during WW II and served in the European and the African Theaters. He was a member of the St John the Baptist Catholic Community and it’s Men’s Club of Dunnellon, FL, the American Legion Post 58, a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 8510, Dunnellon, Fl and the VFW Post 4781 Ocala, Florida.

His funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 11th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, MA, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St Joseph’s Church, 35 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10th in the funeral home.
