Paul O. Emond, 85, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, in The Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. His loving wife of sixty-one years, Marie Exilda (Dionne) Emond, predeceased him on October 12, 2014.
Paul is survived by their children; a son, Edward Emond and his wife Deborah of Worcester; three daughters, Donna Aucoin and her husband Roland of Oxford, Paula D’Onofrio and her husband William of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Mary Copeland and her husband Jason of Worcester; a sister, Jeannine Corrigan of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Timothy, Christopher, Andrew, Derek, Alisha, William, Jessica, James, and Adam; six great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lucas, Liliana, Winnie, Grace, and Emma; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Pauline J. Piscitelli. He was born in Worcester, son of Theophile and Irene (Campeau) Emond, and lived here all his life. Paul served his nation proudly in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict.
Paul worked for many years as a crane operator at Standard Foundry and on the plating line at Reed and Prince Manufacturing, before he retired in 1994. He had previously worked for many years at Brown Shoe Manufacturing. He was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church, a life member of Brown Square Civic Association, and the Franco-American Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing; and was a member of the Auburn Sportsman’s Club. Paul was a hardworking man, who was dedicated to his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 1, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
