Subscription Update Obituary

    Mary T. (Cronin) Maguire, 80 of Naples Florida, formerly of Lisbon St Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 1, 2010 with her devoted husband and family by her side.

    Mary was born in Worcester, October 2, 1930, daughter of Eugene and Anna (Vail) Cronin. She graduated from South High School and lived in Worcester until moving to Naples Florida 20 years ago.

    Mary is survived by her beloved husband and partner of 56 years Richard J. Maguire; four devoted children, Richard E. Maguire and his longtime companion Nancy Martin and her daughter Rachel of Naples, Florida, Patricia M. Ottaviano and her husband Michael of Princeton, Jane A. Howard of Quechee, VT and Francis W. Maguire and his wife Laura of Oakham; six cherished grandchildren, John and Thomas Maguire, Michael, Matthew and Thomas Ottaviano, and Robert “BJ” Howard; five great- grandchildren Cole, Shelby, Thomas and Alexis Maguire and Serenity Ottaviano; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Two brothers, Eugene F. Cronin, Jr. and John J. Cronin predeceased her.

    Mary worked more than 32 years as a telephone operator for New England Telephone before retiring in 1988.

    She was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Princeton, St. Williams Church in Naples, and the Telephone Pioneers Retirees Association. Mary was an avid bowler. She was a member of the WT&G Bowling League and the New Telephone Bowling League. But most of all, Mary cherished the time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her daily visits to the Gulf shore in the company of her family and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, December 5th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her celebration of Life funeral Mass will be held Monday at 12 noon in Prince of Peace Church, 1 Worcester Rd., Princeton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Avow Hospice of Florida, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
