Julianne “Julie” Marie (Spitz) Hunter, a loving wife and mother passed away peacefully to heaven on Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was 71.

Born in Webster, Julie was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Bielik) Spitz and had made her home in Paxton for the past 36 years, where she built a life centered on family, friendship and devotion to those she loved.

Julie was a graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster, class of 1972, and later furthered her education at Becker Junior College in Worcester. Interviewing for a job at his practice, Julie met the love her life, Todd W. Hunter, MD, in 1977. They married in 1980 in Dudley and bought a home in Worcester before moving to Paxton in 1990, where they raised their family.

Most of her career was spent working as an office manager and medical assistant at her husband’s OBGYN medical practice until recently becoming ill. Julie took on many roles with grace and integrity, and she was an energetic and reassuring presence in the office. She was always an emphatic listener, a gentle and understanding nurturer, and someone patients instinctively trusted. She balanced the demands of a busy practice with warmth and professionalism, offering both steady leadership behind the scenes and heartfelt care to every patient she encountered.

She is survived by her caring husband of 46 years, Todd W. Hunter; her adored son, Alex H. Hunter and his wife, Ali, of Newton; her sister, Katherine Cregg and her husband, Dennis, of Webster; and several loving nieces and nephews, including her godson, George Spitz. She also leaves behind her precious furry family members, her Corgi, Lexie and her Yorkie, Annie, who brought her so much happiness. In addition to her parents, Julie was predeceased by her beloved children, Kyle and Faye, her brother, Elias Spitz, and her nephew, Daniel Cregg.

She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. From holidays, to vacationing on the Cape and to the Cayman Islands, and ensuring no life event ever went uncelebrated. Julie’s love, laughter and spontaneity turned simple moments into everlasting memories. She especially treasured her summer home on Browning Pond in Spencer, where she could relax by the water and enjoy the peace and comfort of being surrounded by her loved ones.

Julie was a devoted Catholic and a faithful member of St. Columba Church in Paxton. Together, she and Todd were longtime members of Tatnuck Country Club, where they celebrated many milestones.

Anchored by her strong Christian faith and sustained by her perseverance, Julie faced life’s greatest trials with remarkable courage. She was strengthened by Todd’s unwavering devotion and by Alex’s unconditional love. Together, they carried her through profound sorrow, including the heartbreaking losses of her cherished children, Kyle in 2015 and Faye in 2020, and surrounded her with love and support throughout her recent illness. Julie touched so many lives while she was here and her one of a kind spirit will forever live on.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Julie’s family from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 19th, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, February 20th, at St. Columba Church, 12 Richards Ave., Paxton. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lives Here, a grief support organization at 1085 Main St, Holden, MA 01520.
