Joyce A. (Carlson) Burke, 80, of Holden, died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
Her husband of 57 years, James F. Burke, died January 12 of this year.
She leaves three children, Christopher K. Burke, Jennifer M. Burke both of Worcester, and Andrew E. Burke of Holden; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Burke.
Joyce was born in Worcester, daughter of John O. and Sigrid (Malmberg) Carlson and moved to Holden in 1973.
She graduated in 1958 from North High School and in 1960 from Worcester Junior College.
Joyce was a gifted artist and crafted beautiful works of art in various media for family and friends.
She was an avid sports fan and always enjoyed vacationing with her family in Maine.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in Joyce’s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
