Subscription Update Obituary

      Joan T. (O’Connor) Dickie, 79, of Ashview Dr., died Monday, October 2, 2017 in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 57 years, Bruce H. Dickie, Sr.; her two sons, Bruce H. Dickie, II and John D. Dickie both of Spencer; two daughters, Catherine M. Dumas and her husband Michael of Holland, Mary E. Bodo and her husband Richard of Charlton; a sister, Mary Lou Gilmartin of Auburn; five grandchildren, Emily, Christopher and Samantha Bodo, Joshua, and Matthew Dumas; nieces and nephews.

She was a telephone operator at the Fallon Clinic and previously at Worcester City Hospital.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of George P. and Helen M. (Kennedy) O’Connor and later graduated from South High and attended Ward’s School of Business.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester. Joan loved animals, reading, doing crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Calling hours at the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, are Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 4-7 p.m. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
