Subscription Update Obituary

Janice M. (Page) Herman, 73, a lifelong Worcester resident, passed away at Jewish Health Care Center, Worcester on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Giard) Page and graduated from Burncoat High School.

Janice was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Richard R. Herman in 2020. She is survived by her son, Christopher B. Herman; her grandson, Cameron T. Herman; as well as several nieces and nephews. Janice was also predeceased by her brother, Edward C. Page.

Janice worked at the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction for 28 years, retiring in 2011 at the rank of Sergeant. An avid NASCAR and New York Yankees fan, she loved vacationing in Aruba with her husband.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Why Me, Sherry’s House, 1152 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602 or a charity of one’s choosing.
