Subscription Update Obituary

     George P. Kiritsy, 79, of 241 Main St., died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Beaumont Rehab in Worcester.

     He leaves his wife of 55 years, Catherine M. (McLane) Kiritsy; a son, Emmett R. Kiritsy and his wife Janel of Proctorville, OH; three daughters: Mary C. Kiritsy and her husband Christopher Merrett of Macomb, Ill., Maureen A. Kiritsy and her husband Craig Parker of Arcata, Calif., and Tara L. Kiritsy and her husband Ken Rossiter of Cambridge, MA; two brothers: Hugh Kiritsy and his wife Beth of Upton and Theodore Kiritsy and his wife Helen of Worcester; a sister, Rosemary Kiritsy and her companion Glenn Simpson of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Ann Kiritsy of Worcester; six grandchildren: Grace, Alastair, Caitriona, Quinlan, Abigail and Nikolas; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers: Paul and Francis Kiritsy.

     George was a Registered Pharmacist and owner of the former Spencer Pharmacy from 1983-95. He was born in Providence, R.I., the son of George P. and Mary (Reynolds) Kiritsy. He graduated from the former Classical High in Worcester and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the Mass. College of Pharmacy in Boston.

     George was a member and former Parish Council member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He was a member and current Chairman of the Board of the Spencer Housing Authority. Honorary Member and two term Past President of the Spencer Exchange Club. He was a former Corporator and Trustee of the Spencer Savings Bank, and was Past President and Secretary of the Spencer Rescue Squad, Inc. He was an avid golfer and member of the Ketel One League. He enjoyed going to the casino and watching the Red Sox.

     The funeral will be held Monday, October 18 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer, Ma. 01562.
