Gail D. Astrella, 66, of Worcester passed away peacefully with family gathered at her side, Tuesday, May 10th, 2022.

Gail was born and raised in Worcester, youngest of three children of Trin J. Astrella, Sr., and Dorothy K. (Sarsfield) Astrella.  Gail is survived by her sister and best friend, Carol (Astrella) Bulikowski and husband John as well as her brother, Trin J. Astrella, Jr., and his wife Andrea.  Her 5 nieces and 2 nephews: Leslie and Gregory Bulikowski. Amanda (Astrella) Gorton, Angela (Astrella) Lacouture, Alysa Astrella, Trin III and Marina Astrella. Gail also loved her Great Niece and Great Nephews.

She graduated from North High School class of 1974. She then worked for the Umass-Memorial Healthcare as a unit secretary a total of 24 years before retiring. Gail had short breaks in her Umass employment when she moved to Orlando, Florida with her parents.

Gail loved to laugh, and be with family, her loving cousins, and all the dear friends she made in life. She loved animals of all kinds; kittens and dogs being her favorites. Gail enjoyed getting away to Maine for weekends, always having fun with many laughs. She loved outings with her buddies to the place she lovingly called “The Office” Dunkin Donuts.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday, May 15th from 3 pm to 5 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral will be held Monday, May 16th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon.  Burial with her parents in Worcester County Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue league, Holden St. Worcester.

In Gail’s last days in the Umass, Lake Ave 6 ICU, the love, care and compassion of all who were involved, especially her loving niece, Alysa, the doctors, assistants and nurses will never be forgotten and always be appreciated.
