Subscription Update Obituary

Carol A. (Huban) Lysiak, 77, of Worcester, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Rose Monahan Hospice, Worcester.

Her loving husband of 48 years, Joseph F. Lysiak, died in 2016.

She leaves two children, Kathleen A. Donahue of Worcester and Joseph F. Lysiak Jr. and his wife Julie of Paxton.; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Abbey Donahue of Worcester and Ella and Michael Lysiak of Paxton; a brother, Donald Huban of Worcester; and a sister, Marion Howard of Auburn. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Carol was born in Worcester, daughter of Frederick and Marion (O’Malley) Huban.

Carol was a graduate of North High School. She completed the practical nursing program at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.

Carol worked several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Worcester City Hospital and the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, before retiring.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Carol had many talents including baking and cooking for her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very caring. She enjoyed her flower gardens, her trips to Foxwoods and many visits to the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, and attending all their activities.

Calling hours are Saturday, October 16, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
