Subscription Update Obituary

     Anthony J. Caputo, born April 4, 1931, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017.

He was a devoted husband and loving father. Anthony leaves behind his beloved wife, Concetta (Palermo) Caputo, his son Stanley Caputo and his wife June Caputo of Freeport, NY, his daughter Kathleen Gallagher and her husband Joseph Gallagher of Ipswich, MA, his son David Caputo and his wife Sandra Caputo of Spencer, MA, his cherished 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Anthony was born first generation of his parents Pasquale and Josephine (Caparba) who emigrated from Italy. He is one of seven siblings, and also leaves behind his brother Frank Caputo of West Boylston, MA and sister Grace Claprood of Worcester, MA, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was a lifelong resident of Worcester County.

Anthony retired after many years of employment for the City of Worcester. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the 3rd Infantry Division of the Army. He finished his military obligation with an honorable discharge from the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138 of Spencer MA. Anthony will be remembered for his hard work, “never say quit” attitude, and for his unconditional love of family.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass at 10 AM at St Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Worcester, MA. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Anthony may be made to either a Veterans organization of your choice or the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverly Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452.
