Subscription Update Obituary

     Yvette E. (Proulx) McLaughlin, 88, of Worcester, died Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital.

Her husband of 51 years, Edward J. McLaughlin, died in 2001.

She leaves five children, Edward J. McLaughlin Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Leominster, Michael L. McLaughlin and his wife Ann of Melbourne, Fla, Jeffrey L. McLaughlin and his wife Tina Cline of Worcester, Mary-Ellen McLaughlin Dunne and her husband Brian of Thornton, Colo. and Lisa Marie McLaughlin of Worcester; a brother-in-law Walter Brown of West Boylston; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Her sister Doris Brown died in 2011.

Yvette was born in Worcester, daughter of Leopold and Yvonne (Chamberland) Proulx. She grew up in Southbridge and moved to Worcester in her teens. She graduated from South High School and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a labor and delivery nurse at Memorial Hospital for 42 years.

Yvette was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish. She had a lifelong passion for reading and loved traveling.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Tuesday, March 1, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
