Yvette A. (Gagnon) Jolicoeur, 96, of Worcester, died peacefully on Friday March 11, 2016 in the Jewish Health Care Center. Her husband of 68 years, Armand A. Jolicoeur died July 18, 2015. Yvette was also predeceased by her 7 siblings, among them Irene Jolicoeur who died February 18, 2016 aged 103.
She leaves her children, Elaine M. Gingras and her husband, Leo of Rutland; Susan R. Elliott and her husband David of Oxford; Alan A. Jolicoeur and his wife Denise of Worcester and Dennis A. Jolicoeur and his wife Laurie of Palmetto, Fl., ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Hartford, Ct., a daughter of Arthur and Rose (Turcotte) Gagnon and lived in Worcester most of her life.
Mrs. Jolicoeur raised her children on Valmor st., her mother also living among them, and worked for twenty years at the Iandoli Markets Deli Counter. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church. Mrs. Jolicoeur was famous for her baking, including her adage that pie required ice cream to “cut the sweetness.” She was an astonishing scrabble player, enjoyed her regular card group, the casino and traveling.
