Subscription Update Obituary

     Winnifred Scott Leno Bryant passed away peacefully in her sleep on her 87th birthday on May 19th, 2017.

She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Jennie and Alba Leno. After completing high school, she attended cosmetology school and was a hair dresser for 38 years. She was also a realtor for several years after she moved to North Carolina.

Winnie was married to Robert Arthur Bryant for 60 years. She also leaves her two children, Cindy Carroll, wife of Jim Carroll of Charlotte, NC and Ken Bryant, husband of Barbie Bryant of Paxton, MA, granddaughter Jessica Bilbrey and husband Eric Bilbrey, of London, England, and great- granddaughter Amelia Bilbrey.

Winnie volunteered for many years for Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville NC and at Christ the King Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles and Bingo. As a volunteer, Winnie knitted hundreds of baby hats for CMC Pineville, scarves, wash cloths and hats for the homeless, and blankets for dog shelters.

Memorial service will be held at a future date. She will be cremated and her remains will be interred at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC, 28204 or the Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.
