Subscription Update Obituary

     William P. Fitzgerald, 79, of Leicester died Saturday January 11th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Dorothy A. (Lloyd) Kenney Fitzgerald; a daughter, Kathleen Sherrod of Texas; five stepsons, Michael Kenney of Charlton, James Kenney of Worcester, Jack Kenney of West Brookfield, David Kenney of Worcester and Daniel Kenney of CT; his children from a previous marriage, a son, William Fitzgerald and three daughters, Susan, Robin, Deidre all of Texas; three brothers, Ronald Fitzgerald of Maryland, Raymond Fitzgerald of Worcester and John Fitzgerald of Auburn; two sisters, Carolyn Ferguson and Linda Johnson both of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester the son of William P. and Bertha D. (Deedy) Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was a member of the Webster-Auburn Elks and was also a bartender there for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War.

Calling hours are Thursday, January 16th from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
