Subscription Update Obituary

     William “Billy or Brownie” J. Brown, 69 – died peacefully at UMass Medical Center on February 10, 2015 in Worcester.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carolyn “Candy” Brown; his son Michael Brown & his fiancee Mary Newton of Hudson, MA.; his daughter Tracy Miele & husband Mario Miele of Rutland, MA.; a sister, Susan Fortunato of Millbury, MA.; four grandchildren, Grace, Dylan, Joseph, and Sarah; many nephews & nieces and his loved dog Molly. He is preceded in death by his parents George & Dorothy Brown of Worcester and brother Richard Brown of Oxford.

Bill was born on March 10, 1945 in Worcester. He attended Worcester Boy’s Trade and used his natural talent for fixing things to become an automotive mechanic, specializing in rebuilding transmissions. He worked for several years at Warner and Swasey and eventually became co-owner of Leominister Transmissions. Bill could fix anything!

Bill and his wife resided in Worcester for 32 years before moving to Barre where he enjoyed fishing, working on cars, working various part-time jobs and spending time with his family.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5-7PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM in Worcester County Memorial Park Richards Ave Paxton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Worcester.
