Subscription Update Obituary

     Wilfred J. Nicholas, 85, of Spencer passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 9th in his home.

Mr. Nicholas was married to the late Barbara S. (McGee) Nicholas, who died in July 2017. Wilfred is survived by three sons, James M. Nicholas and his wife, Christina of Worcester, Robert W. Nicholas of Worcester and Carl R. Nicholas and his wife, Kelly of Bourne, MA; three daughters, Tina Friss and her husband, Matt of New York, Sandy Brown and her husband Steve of Worcester and Kimberly Whitaker and her husband, Kim of North Brookfield, MA; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Wilfred was born in Marlborough, son of the late James and Rose (Renaud) Nicholas and is predeceased by 2 sisters, Eleanor Bernier and Christine Nicholas. He graduated from Marlborough High School and then entered the United States Army serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Nicholas worked for over 20 years at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the physical plant department. He was an avid sports fan but especially loved his Boston Red Sox. Wilfred was the happiest when he was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by all.

Private funeral services are being held and burial with military honors will take place in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in memory of Wilfred may be made to Why Me c/o Sherry’s House 1152 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01602. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
