Subscription Update Obituary

      Wayne A. Beckford, Jr., 28, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from injuries sustained from a fall at Dorr Mountain in Maine.

He leaves his precious daughters, Janaiyah Walsh-Beckford of Gardner and Kaiyah Beckford of Rutland; his parents, Wayne and Kathleen (Russo) Beckford, Sr. of Fitchburg; his brother, Brandon Beckford of Fitchburg; his sisters, Natasha Beckford of Leominster, Rose Ortiz of Dedham and Beatriz Beckford of Chicago; his grandmother, Katherine Stepansky of Tewksbury; his former wife, Koryn M. (Bachant) Beckford of Rutland; his aunts, Lori Bourque of New Hampshire, Karen Russo of Tewksbury and Jewel Weeks of Newton; his uncles, Danny Russo of Concord and Francis Beckford of Methuen; several cousins; many other close relatives; and his dog Lily. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Jayla in 2014.

Wayne was a mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and was a manager at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Store in Worcester. He enjoyed singing, dancing, playing pool, swimming, bowling and going to the beach. He also enjoyed music, action movies, cookouts and playing board games. He liked to make jokes and goof off just to keep everyone laughing. He was known as a loving and caring gentle soul who always put others before himself. Wayne was proud of his Jamaican Heritage, his girls and he cherished his quality time with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, appropriate social distancing and wearing of a mask will be required. A private funeral service for Wayne will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, 133 Federal Street, 2 Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
