Subscription Update Obituary

     Virginia M. (LaFontaine) Cole, 86, died peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Edmund N. and Bertha (Bouchard) LaFontaine.

Virginia was raised in Worcester and graduated from North High School and the Worcester School of Business Science. She worked as a bookkeeper for the former Foster Associates and Harry Friedberg & Associates.

Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Walter P. Cole who died in 1981. She leaves her four sons, Michael P. Cole of Grantham, NH, Steven W. Cole and his wife, Margaret of Spencer, John E. Cole and David J. Cole, both of Worcester; her six grandchildren, Erin, Michael, Coleen, Keegan, Zachary and Olivia; a cousin; several nieces and nephews; and her closest friend and travel companion, Howard Hawkesworth of Worcester. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy J. LaFontaine in 1979.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association , 300 Fifth Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-8750. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
