Virginia A. “Ginny” (Lackey) Rana, 79, of Daniel Shays Highway, died on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Born in Winchendon on March 21, 1944, she was the daughter of Milton and Hazel (Howard) Lackey.
Ginny was married to Aldo Rana, who predeceased her.
Ginny was employed as a nurse at several places and later took care of children for the state, providing love and a home for many in the system.
For over 20 years, Ginny took part in the YMCA Minstrel Shows and loved entertaining people.
Ginny is survived by her brothers, Les Lackey of North Brookfield and Michael Lackey and his wife, Debra, of Royalston; along with many nephews and nieces.
Ginny was predeceased by her father on May 17, 2009 and her mother on October 6, 2023. She was also predeceased by her husband Aldo, as well as brothers, Guy Lackey, James Lackey and Robert “Bobby” Lackey.
There are no calling hours or services as her pre-arrangements requested.
Interment will be private in the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
