Vincenzo “Vinny” Puntillo, 79, of West Boylston passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, October 19th 2017 with those he loved gathered at his side.

Vinny was born and raised in Montescaglioso, Italy. He was one of six children of Vito and Lucia (Lospinuso) Puntillo. At the age of 20, Vinny immigrated to the United States . He met and married the woman who became the “Love of his Life”, Maria F. Simmarano. They settled in Worcester to raise their family with love and devotion before moving to West Boylston where they have lived for the past 13 years.

Vinny is survived by the family he devoted his life to; his wife Maria, children and grandchildren. Lucia Ferranto, her husband Lawrence and their children Peter and Kristina of Worcester; Rosa D’Agostino, her husband Joe and their children Joseph and Steven; Vito Puntillo and his children, Harrison and Ava all of Shrewsbury; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Vinny was a member of the Greendale Men’s Retirement Club, the Bakery and Confectionery International Union local 170, and Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. His family always came first. Vinny was the backbone of the family and remained devoted to them throughout life. He was a beautiful man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; his family, gardening, planting and maintaining flowers all over his neighborhood, traveling with Maria especially cruising to various destinations, the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and his Italian heritage. Special occasions and when he could be with his family and friends were treasured. He was also very generous with his love, time and resources, and helped anyone he could. He will be remembered for his kind, humble, and giving ways.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, October 22nd from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral Service will be held Monday, October 23rd at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
