Victoria M. (Canistro) Brodeur, 86, of Worcester died Thursday, October 12th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Her husband of 36 years, Rene J. Brodeur, Jr. died in 1992. She leaves four sons, Rene J. Brodeur, III and his fiancée, Jill Ann Peterson, John M. Brodeur and his wife, Vikki all of Worcester, Stephen W. Brodeur and his wife, Amy of Charlton and William R. Brodeur and his fiancée, Amanda Fish of Worcester; three daughters, Betty A. Manzello of Worcester, Gail M. Mastrorio and her husband, Edward of Spencer and Mary A. Malley and her husband, Michael of Worcester; thirteen grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Anthony, Aaron, Justin, Nicholas, Shamus, Rene, Timary, Molly, Jacob, Emily and Georgia; three great grandchildren, Jaden, Ava and Lincoln and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her grand-dog, Emma.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia A. Brodeur and her siblings, Lucia Bengiovanni, Genaro Canistro, Nina Guidali, Margaret Ruyffelaert, Patricia Periello, Magdalena Tessicini, Salvadore Canistro, Madeline Charpentier and Teresa Forte.

She was born in Lancaster the daughter of Nicola and Concetta (Turano) Canistro and graduated from Lancaster High School. Mrs. Brodeur was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a former member of the PTO at New Ludlow School. She was a talented bowler at Auburn Ten-Pin and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Patriots, Bruins and the Red Sox. Victoria was known for her baking, everyone loved her cookies, meatballs, French meat stuffing and pies. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time at Old Orchard Beach camping and sitting by the fire. She enjoyed playing solitaire and watching her children and grandchildren play sports.

The family would like to thank the VNA Care Network and the staff of the Rose Monahan Hospice Home for the compassion and care Victoria received during her illness.

Her funeral is Tuesday, October 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, October 16th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
