Subscription Update Obituary

     Toivo E. Aho, 98, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Holden Rehabilitation and Skilled Nurse Center after an illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of William M. and Tina (Rantamaki) Aho and had lived in Paxton for over 60 years.

His loving wife of 42 years, Viena M. (Marskey) Aho, passed away in 1984. He leaves a son, William Aho and his wife, Kathleen of Rutland; a daughter, Betty Ann Dahlquist and her husband, Robert of Atkinson, NH; five grandchildren, Christine Dahlquist, Craig Dahlquist, Jessica Aho, Amanda Nanni and Seth Aho; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by four brothers, Waino Aho, Andrew Aho, Neil Aho and Eino Ranta.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Force serving with the Eighth Air Force during World War II. He was a die maker and a wire drawer for Worcester Wire and National Standard for 38 years retiring in 1978. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

A private committal service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice . Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
