Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas F. O’Connor, 73, of Worcester passed away Monday, September 11 in UMASS Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late James. P. O’Connor, Sr. and Barbara M. (Schnare) O’Connor. He is survived by his four siblings, James P O’Connor, Jr. of Worcester, Nancy A. Poirier and her husband James of Rutland, Patricia M. Hayes of Auburn, and Judith A. Lowe and her husband Chris of Orleans; seven nieces and nephews and one great nephew. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, William R. Hayes.  He graduated from St. Peter’s High and attended Assumption College, where he played basketball.  Tom loved sports and had great aspirations for his life before becoming ill. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Westside House for their care.

A Funeral will be held, Tuesday, September 19, from Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A visiting hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westside House, 35 Fruit St., Worcester, 01609.
