Thomas Bartlett Nally, affectionately known as “Pops,” passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, November 12th, at his home, with his loving wife, Louise, by his side. Tom, a man of deep passion and diverse talents, will be remembered most for his boundless kindness. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued and special, dedicating much of his time to serving others. His quick wit and rich array of inspirational quips brightened every interaction.

Tom applied his unique talents in various ways, including years spent coaching soccer teams for his children and others. He also held several leadership positions within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which he cherished deeply.

Tom was a US Army Veteran who diligently served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a skilled handyman and a jack of all trades. There was never a project too big for Tom to take on himself. He devoted countless hours to nurturing his homestead, including the house on Cape Cod. He built these with his own hands, creating a lasting legacy of skill and perseverance.

He was an ardent outdoorsman and his love for nature was evident in his enjoyment of hiking, running, swimming, skiing, and biking. In his later years, he embraced triathlons and marathons, connecting with numerous people along the way. These activities reflected not only his love for the outdoors but also his zest for life and adventure.

A devoted family man, Tom leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Louise, and his beloved children: Sean Nally and his wife Jacky of Westminster, MA; Erin Severens and her husband Jamie of Worcester, MA; Tim Nally and his wife Kate of Sacramento, CA; Caitlin Benson of Salt Lake City, UT; Kevin Nally and his wife Beth of Gardner, MA; and Brian Nally of McCook, NE. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren who he cherished and adored greatly. He is preceded by his mother and father, William and Rebecca Nally, and his brother Billy and sisters Nancy and Rebecca.

Tom’s legacy lies not only in his projects and hobbies but in the lives he touched with his warmth and generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, mentor, and friend.

Please join the family in celebrating Tom’s joyous life on Friday, November 17, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Miles Funeral Home 1158 Main St. Holden, MA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 634 Pearl St. Gardner, MA. Burial will be private.
