Subscription Update Obituary

    Theresa L. (Marotta) Groccia, 75, of Worcester, passed away Monday, April 5th, 2010 with her family at her side.

    Theresa is survived by her husband of 54 years, Daniel A. Groccia; her four devoted children: Debra L. Donahue and her husband Bruce, Denise M. Groccia, Daniel L. Groccia, and Terri E. Groccia; a sister, Angelina DiPilato, all of Worcester; five cherished grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife Michelle, Jennifer, Daniel, Jimmy, and Tony; and two great grandchildren: Nathaniel and Tiffany; many nieces; nephews; cousins; friends; and her chihuahuas: Arnold and Isabella. Two brothers: Angelo and Raymond Marotta predeceased her. Theresa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Louis and Antoinette (Dinino) Marotta and lived here all her life.

    Theresa worked as a supervisor for Come Play Products Company before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was always the life of the party. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, going to the Casino, reading books, crocheting, cooking, watching Lifetime movies, the Red Sox and the Patriots. She was a loving Mother and a devoted Wife. She will be terribly missed.

    The funeral will be held Friday, April 9th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, April 8th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
