Subscription Update Obituary

     Sophie T. (Sawicki) Morin, 92, of Worcester died Monday, November 16th in St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband of 65 years, John M. Morin, Sr.; two sons, Walter T. Morin and his wife, Wendy of Worcester and John M. Morin, Jr. of Brownsburg, Indiana; a sister, Helen Busch of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Nina, Amy and her husband Mark, Robert, John and his wife Kara, Marc, Jacques, Michael and Emily; and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Victor and Walter Sawicki and a sister, Anna Nichols.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Victor and Mary (Rachubka) Sawicki and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade. Sophie worked as a stitcher for many years at several area companies including David Clark Company and Jackson Sportswear. She enjoyed polka dancing, picnics, camping, knitting and family.

Her graveside service is Saturday, November 21 at 11:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Sophie’s memory to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
