Subscription Update Obituary

     Shirley S. (Cormey) Dragon, 91, formerly of Howe Village, died Friday, Dec. 5th. at Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton.

She was the wife of Willard F. “Bill” Dragon who died in 2001. She leaves her daughter Susanne J. Rainville and her husband Paul of Woodbridge, Va., two brothers; Wesley Cormey of Tom’s River, N.J., and Wayne Cormey of Sea Gert, N.J., two sisters Thelma Travers and Marilyn McGuirk both of Charlton, two grandchildren; Eric Rainville and his wife Gloria and Melanie Thurston and her husband Kevin, two great grandchildren; Courtney and Ryleigh Thurston, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter Shelley A. Head in 2006 and brothers; Donald, Sherwood and Wendell Cormey.

Shirley was a shoe worker at the former Klevin Shoe Co of Spencer and No.Brookfield for 18 years, retiring in 1965. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Garfield and Stella (Fowler) Cormey.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 5 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Overlook Employee Appreciation Fund, P.O. Box 1000, Charlton, MA. 01507.
