Sharon W. (Liberty) Brunelle, 78, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Sharon will be dearly missed by her loving family: her daughter Tammy Setterlund of Sutton and son-in-law Rich Setterlund, and daughter Missy Kennedy of Thompson, CT and her son-in-law Scott Kennedy. She was a proud “Mima” to three grandchildren, Jason Libuda, Joshua Libuda and Taylor Kennedy; and two great-grandchildren, Sofie and Brady Libuda. Sharon held a special place in her heart for Tammy Kuklinski and her husband Jacek Kuklinski of West Simsbury, CT; and her bonus grandchildren Tylor, Jacek and Noella. She leaves her sisters Kathy Simmons and Edna Liberty, both of Connecticut. Sharon is predeceased by her husband George who passed away in 2015; and her son Joey who passed away in 1988. Sharon was the daughter of Lawrence Liberty and Beryl (Rourke) Liberty. Her mother passed when she was two and Sharon was raised by her loving aunt, Dorothy (Rourke) Hale and her husband Lloyd R. Hale.

Sharon’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She spent many years of her life caring for foster children and volunteering for Catholic Charities in Worcester. Sharon had a profound love for animals, especially her adoring “Pretty Kitty.”

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Worcester Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, where Sharon will be laid to rest alongside her husband and son. Donations can be made in Sharon’s memory to The Rose Monahan Hospice Home, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, MA 01602.
