Ruth L. (Alba) Baron, 99, a longtime resident of Auburn, died Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Christopher House of Worcester. Ruth would have celebrated her 100th birthday in June.

She was born in Rutland, daughter of Vincent and Genevieve (Davis) Alba and graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School. Ruth worked as an LPN at local hospitals for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Worcester.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, George A. Baron, their daughter, R. Elaine Shelton and a sister, Virginia Doherty. She is survived by her sister Helen Malm and several nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed being outside while gardening, birdwatching and fishing. Ruth also enjoyed sewing and other crafts and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed spending time with the knitting group in Auburn.

Ruth’s family wishes to thank Christopher Heights and Christopher House for their kindness and skilled care.

At Ruth’s request, a graveside service will be held privately.
