Subscription Update Obituary

Ruth E. (Hamblin) Flynn, 91 of Worcester, died Thursday, December 23rd in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of 54 years, Edward R, Flynn, Jr. died in 2003. She is survived by her four children, Michael Flynn and his wife, Judy, Edward Flynn, III and his wife, Chris, Kathy Dowd and her husband, Steve, and Steven Flynn and his wife, Farrah; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Clark) Hamblin; and was raised and educated in Worcester along with her five siblings, Robert, Evelyn, Dorothy, William and Donald. Ruth had been employed for many years by the VNA Care Network and had also been employed by the Washburn House, and had served as a volunteer for the Worcester Senior Center. She was an active member of the Worcester Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ruth will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend. Her hobbies included reading, arts and crafts and puzzles.

Ruth’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for their loving and caring nature provided to Ruth over the years.

O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with funeral arrangements which will be private. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date.
