Russell K. Wigren, (91), of Worcester passed away on June 20, 2017 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a brief illness.

His wife of 52 years, Lucy (Lategola) Wigren died in 2011.  Russell was predeceased by his sister, Mae (Wigren) Ledoux, who died in 2002.

Russell is survived by his daughter, Rosemary Taylor of West Boylston and her husband, Richard, and two grandsons, Cory and Dylan Taylor.

Russell was born in Worcester, the son of John and Christine (Danielson) Wigren and lived in Worcester all his life.  He was a graduate of Commerce High School and served in the Air Force during WWII in the Philippines.  Russell later worked as a Tool Crib Operator in the Diamond Products division of Norton Company for 36 years, retiring in 1988.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing in Maine, golfing, and his trips to Foxwoods.  Russell was a man who truly enjoyed life, had a huge heart, infectious laugh, and wonderful sense of humor.  Russell was blessed with a long life and his smiling face will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Russell’s family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by Dr. James Rooney and Olivia, and the staff at Christopher Heights Assisted Living. Also, a thank you to the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home for their caring and kindness during Russell’s final days.
