Subscription Update Obituary

Ronald V. Wilga, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Catherine (Mercando) Wilga; 2 sons- Steven Wilga and his wife Sara of Washington state and Daniel Wilga and his wife Deborah of Phillipston, MA; 4 granddaughters-Sydney, Madison, Mallory, and Gabrielle; and a sister- Joyce Monopoly and her husband Matteo of Washington state. He was predeceased by a brother Walter Wilga and by a sister Patricia Olson.

Ron was born in Worcester, son of the late Walter and Anna (Muniec) Wilga and graduated from Commerce High School and Ward Business School. He proudly served his country for 6 years in the US Air Force and then worked as a machinist at the former Norton Company. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and the Worcester Surf Casting Club. He enjoyed having an occasional beer with friends and family.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 9:00- 10:45 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church 570 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to Veterans Inc. 69 Grove St. Worcester, MA.
