Subscription Update Obituary

     Ronald D. George, 68, longtime resident of West Boylston passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center.

He leaves his wife of 29 years, Martha L. (Erickson) George; two daughters, Kristine George of West Boylston and her significant other Darren Blum and Julie Brodeur and her husband Tony of Rutland; two step children, Jeff Magnuson and his wife Jill of Sutton and Wendy Kendrick of Sutton and her significant other Ben Pearson; six grandchildren, Josh and Jessica Oberle, Kayla and Brandon Brodeur, and Liberty Kendrick and Mia Magnuson. He also leaves his brother Robert George and sister-in-law Pat of Harwich; his sister Beverly George of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers-in-law, Donald Erickson of Sutton and Robert Erickson and his wife Judy of Worcester. A sister Christine predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Peter and Ruth “Queenie” (Jacobs) George and graduated from West Boylston High School and the post graduate electronics program at Leominster Center for Tech and Career Ed. He owned and operated Ron’s Sound for 38 years until retiring. Ron also worked as a projectionist in many local indoor and outdoor theaters for many years, and was a part time bus driver for the town of West Boylston. He was a past member of Local 96 IBEW and a former member of the West Boylston Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Ron loved to spend time at Perkins Cove in “Radio” Maine.

Visiting hours are Friday, February 27 from 4-8 pm at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
