Subscription Update Obituary

   Roger P. Dorr, 78, of Worcester, died peacefully Monday, January 5th in his home.

   He leaves his wife of 49 years, Mary E. (Statuto) Dorr; five daughters, Therese M. and her husband Matthew Langevin, Sr. of Brookfield, Kathleen M. Rogers and her husband Daniel of Auburn, Maine, Donna M. Bill and her husband John of Worcester, Karen M. Myers and her husband Robert of Amherst, NH and Anne M. MacDougall and her husband Richard of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Annette Tharp of Texas; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Lynette, Samantha, Eleanor, Matthew, Jr., Nicole, Patrick, Ashley, Laura and Charlotte; four great granddaughters, Jaelyn, Amaya, Kayla and Maggie; a niece and several nephews. Two sisters, Marjorie Rowden and Jane Bronness predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, the son of Harry and Elda (Bousquet) Dorr.

   Mr. Dorr was a graduate of Leicester High School. He was employed by New England Telephone for 35 years as a lineman and installer until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Dorr was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Mr. Dorr was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a Friend of Bill W. for 35 years. He was an avid Patriots and sports fan.

   The funeral is Thursday, January 8th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 7th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
