Subscription Update Obituary

     Rocco A. Riani, 90, formerly of Millbury, passed away on Thursday, August 10th at Brooksby Village in Peabody, surrounded by his loving family.

Rocco’s beloved wife, Edith G. (Schmitt) Riani passed away in 1992. He leaves four loving children, Diane Whitely of Tampa, FL, Pat Riani-Bassett and her husband, Al of Alachua, FL, Brenda Schelzi and her husband, Mark of Lynnfield and Perry Riani and his wife, Kathy of Oakland, CA; his partner of 21 years, MaryAnne Casciato of Florida; eight grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Danielle, Chad, Rocco, Jennifer, Cristina and Nicolas; several great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Riani and his wife, Doris of Auburn; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four siblings, Helen, Eugene, Joseph, and Richard.

Rocco was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Army from 1945-1965, retiring as a Sergeant Major.

Rocco’s calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 19th from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. His Funeral Mass will follow the calling hours at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial with military honors will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
