Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. Rudge, 85, passed away on Friday, October 2nd with his family by his side. He leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Christine O. (Larson) Rudge; his son, Curt R. Rudge and his wife JoAnn of Millbury; three grandchildren, Derek Rudge and his wife Melissa, Milissa Obara and her husband Daniel and Brianne Dauderis; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Trey, Owen and Elizabeth; his brother, Ronald Rudge of Millbury and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by three brothers, Richard Rudge, Alfred Howard Rudge and Sidney V. “Bud” Rudge.

Robert, along with his triplet brothers Ronald and Richard, was born in Worcester, son of Alfred H. and Annie E. (Greenhalge) Rudge and was a graduate of South High School. Robert and his brother, Ron, owned and operated Greenwood Service Station for many years. He was a 50 year member of the Olive Branch A.F. & A.M. in Millbury, Scottish Rite and the Aleppo Temple Shriners. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a big hockey fan. He also loved spending time with his family and friends at his home in Harwich.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11:00 am at First Congregational Church of Millbury, 148 West Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children , 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114. Arrangements are in the care of LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester.
