Subscription Update Obituary

    Robert J. Marquis, 71, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 11th at Beaumont Rehabilitation Center.

He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn (Houle) Marquis. He was born in Framingham to the late Albert J. and Lorraine (Beaulac) Marquis but lived most of his life in Worcester where he was raised and educated. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade, Electrical Dept. He was a Master Electrician as well as a member of I.B.E.W. Local 96 for over forty years.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Goyette and her husband Kevin of Millbury; Lynne Byrnes and her husband Seanan of Worcester; four grandchildren, Stephen and Danielle Goyette of Millbury and Elisha Marquis and Nicole Byrnes of Worcester and two great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his brother, Albert (Bert) Marquis. Robert was an avid gardener who would share the bounty with family and friends. He was interested in conservation and was proud to win the Mayor’s Clean and Green Award for the first residential Solar Project in Worcester.

Robert enjoyed spending time with family and loved to cook for holidays and special occasions. He will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont Rehabilitation and University Dialysis Center for their care and compassion.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester.
