Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert J. Goulet, 89, of Worcester died Saturday, April 30th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. His wife of 51 years, Florence A. (Spedding) Goulet died in 2000. He leaves three daughters, Joyce M. Kneeland and her husband, Kevin, Cynthia A. Goulet and her significant other, Stuart Greenlaw and Paula J. Smith all of Worcester; a brother, Paul Goulet and his wife, Shirley of Worcester; a sister, Jane Blevins of Worcester; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel and Erin Brennan, Natasha Goulet, Jessica Smith-Tassone, Jeffrey and Jared Smith; 6 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Kneeland; three brothers and four sisters.

He was born in Worcester the son of Hector and Anna (Derosier) Goulet. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He worked as a foreman for many years at Smith Valve Corp., retiring in 1985. Mr. Goulet was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He cherished the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Robert was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved to play bingo and enjoyed travelling especially his yearly trips to Las Vegas.

His calling hours are Wednesday, May 4th from 9:00 until 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by his funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 383 Grove Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
