Robert J. Gardner, 90, formerly of 16 Lyford Rd., died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Sandalwood Center in Oxford. His longtime friend Alpha “Lee” Leno died in 2010.
Bob was a a winder at the former Carleton Woolen Mills in Rochdale, retiring in 1972.
Born in Spencer, he was the son of Hector and Viola (Baribeault) Gardner and later served his country with the US Army during WWII.
An hour of visitation followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, Ma. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, Ma. 01605.
