Robert E. Novak, 78, a longtime Jefferson resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016. He was born in Worcester on July 10, 1937, the son of Sylvester and Vera (Dell) Novak.

He retired as a journeyman carpenter and was an active member and a former vice president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 170 in Worcester. He also was the former owner of Finders Keepers Antiques store in Worcester. In his leisure, Bob enjoyed volunteering with his fellow carpenters on constructing ramps for people with disabilities and will be sadly missed by his loving and loyal dog, Jo-Jo.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Diane (Deslaurier) Novak; his daughter, Kim Trotto and her husband, David of Osterville; his sister, Rita Novak of Worcester; three grandchildren, Eric, Matthew and Tracy; and nieces and nephews, including his nephew, Robert Dunn whose help and support Bob deeply appreciated. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Richard, Eugene and Raymond Novak and his sister, Loretta Dunn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family on Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson.
