Subscription Update Obituary

     Rita E. (Morin) Scott, 90, of Sterling, died Wednesday November 23, 2016 in Sterling Village with family by her side. Her husband of 68 years. Frederick B. Scott died on May 31, 2016.

She leaves, two sons, Jeffrey J. Scott and his wife Erin of Leominster; and Frederick B. Scott, Jr, of Helena, MT, four daughters, Cynthia S. Buckless and her husband Michael of Marlton, NJ, Susan R. Shirley and her husband Larry of Sweet Home, OR, Barbara Ann Jarvis of Murrieta, CA, and Joan L. Bentley and her husband Michael of Helena, MT, 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchildren and a sister, Therese F. Lawson of Auburn and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Danny Lee Jarvis, four sisters, Cecile C. Snow, Florence E. Lund, Beatrice A. Cerasuolo and Doris L. Therrien and by six brothers, Raymond L., Roland C., Edmond B., Raoul B., Adelard G., and Marcel G. Morin. Rita was born in Worcester the youngest child of the late Adelard P. and Corinne (Mousseau) Morin.

Rita was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Family was the most important aspect of life to Rita. She and Scotty enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren on both coasts. As a couple, they frequently took trips to Cape Cod to listen to their favorite singers at the Melody Tent. Rita was passionate about animals. She took care of many dogs, cats and birds in her home, treating them as family.

The funeral will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 with a service at 11:00 A.M. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sterling Village Council Residents Fund (in memo line please indicate in memory of Rita Scott), Sterling Village, 18 Dana Hill Rd., Sterling, MA., 01564.
