Rita C. (Mathieu) Conroy, 92, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in the Saint Mary Healthcare Center after a long illness.
Rita was married for 50 years to the late Donald V. Conroy who passed away in 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Conroy Laboeuf of North Carolina; 3 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Wilfred F. and Marie M. (Richard) Mathieu and is also predeceased by a brother Wilfred N. Mathieu.
Rita is a graduate of Holy Name High School and worked for over 25 years as a bookkeeper for the former West Side Union Laundry Company. She was a longtime member of Saint Peter’s Church where she volunteered in many capacities including as a eucharistic minister and a member of the choir.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 6, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling period will be held from 8:45 to 9:30 in the funeral home prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions in memory of Rita may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks Rd.
