Subscription Update Obituary

     Richard “Dick” W. Butler, 83, of Holden, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family by his side on Monday, July 18th in the St. Francis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health.

Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth E. (Leyonborg) Butler; 2 daughters, Cheryl A. Zompetti of Worcester and Lynne M. Coppola of Shelton, CT; two grandchildren, Tianna and Nichole Zompetti; two brothers, Kenneth Butler of Worcester and Paul Butler of Carver, MA and many nephews and nieces.

Dick was born in Worcester, son of the late George and Bertha (Wilmot) Butler and is also predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Duggan and a brother, George Butler.

Dick worked for over 30 years with the Holmes Graphics Company as a commercial photographer. After he retired, Mr. Butler went to work at the Worcester Art Museum, where he worked various jobs including photographing various items for the museum.

Dick loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, who meant the world to him as well as his passion for photography, which he so enjoyed. Dick will be very sadly missed by his family and friends, but will forever live in our hearts and memories.

The Butler family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the St. Francis Home for the wonderful care that he received.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle St. at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association , 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
