Subscription Update Obituary

Richard D. McMenemy, 86, of Paxton, died on Tuesday, June 6th peacefully surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Deborah E. (O’Connor) McMenemy; three daughters, Joan E. McMenemy and Susan M.McMenemy both of Westborough, Ann B. McMenemy of Ipswich; a son, James R. McMenemy (Lorraine) of Bristol, CT ; a brother, William J. McMenemy of Leicester; a sister, Jane F. DeFalco of Arizona; four grandchildren, Michael, Jillian, Lucas and Abigail; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was born in Worcester, son of William D. and Helen (Cunningham) McMenemy. Richard graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He worked for 45 years as a master plumber, working for Tucker and Rice Company and William F. Lynch before retiring. He was a member of St. Columba Parish for 48 years and a member of the church council. He was also a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #4 for 65 years. Richard enjoyed working on home projects and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 13th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, to St. Columba Parish, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton, with a mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 12th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA. 01701.
